Fur Harvesters Auction Inc. of North Bay closed the 2007-2008 selling season with its most successful May auction in its recorded history. Western Canadian Fur Auction’s added assortment helped highlight items such as sable, lynx, lynx cat, wolf and wolverine by recording all time record quantities in these items.

Competition was wide spread with 107 international buyers competing for the last available crop of wild fur for the season. As a result FHA’s beaver assortment realised the highest averages for the entire season for North America with China taking a strong position. Thanks to strong support from Greece and Italy, Lynx Cats and Canadian Lynx also topped the year at this auction for the entire season. Sables sold strongly with heavier, larger sizes softening slightly in line with recent auctions. China and Greece were the dominant players.
