RESULTS
- SALE DECEMBER 16 & 17, 2001 Canadian Dollars |
| We are pleased to report the
results of our December 16 & 17 auction. Every major species was in
excellent demand and clearances were high. The slightly easier Beaver prices
were mainly in the heavier, shearing goods and the poorer grades. This is
thought to be only a temporary adjustment and prices should improve when
the important New York market gets more involved. Fisher, Lynx, Bobcat, Muskrats, Raccoon, Red Fox, and Coyotes showed increases of 10% to 30% over last December. The surprise of the auction was the Nunavut Hairseal with prices rocketing 45% over last year. This was a great start to what could become a very exciting season for Wild Furs, and we were extremely encouraged by the very active competition for all varieties from the 70 buyers in attendance. Our next auction will be held on February 24 at the Seattle Fur Exchange. We expect more than 200 buyers from all over the world to be in attendance, and we will have a strong presence there to promote your product. Our last receiving date for that auction is January 12, 2002, in North Bay. We would like to thank all of you for your strong support and wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Happy Holidays! |
